About Love Always, Becca Jean
In 2009 our family got the shock of our lives. We are a small and very close-knit family. Out
of 3 sisters, the younger 2 were diagnosed with colon cancer within 6 months of each other
at the ages of 23 (Laura) and 21 (Becca). We learned that they had an extremely rare
cancer causing condition called Constitutional Mismatch Repair Deficiency (CMMRD), a rare form
of Lynch Syndrome.
In May 2015, Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer and 3 days later Rebecca was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 27. Becca fought this cruel disease, GBM brain cancer, for almost a year and during this time she endured multiple surgeries, radiation, and immunotherapy. She would have given anything to prevent anyone else from enduring the pain she went through. She volunteered to undergo novel therapies in hopes of doctors learning something that could prevent others from suffering as she did. Becca was always an angel on Earth, but gained her Heavenly Angel wings on April 24, 2016. Her wishes were for her body to be used for CMMRD research so that others could be spared.
Becca’s family and friends formed Love Always, Becca Jean (Inc) to share Becca’s story with the world in order to Embrace Life by making the most of everyday and improving the quality of life of those affected by CMMRD, to Save Lives by finding a cure for CMMRD and improving treatment options for CMMRD cancers, and to Be Becca Kind through actions and events to continue Becca’s legacy. Love Always, Becca Jean is a 501(c)(3) ALL VOLUNTEER organization. We aim to raise funding to support our mission with ALL proceeds going directly to our cause.
